Product Review: Urban Decay Primer Potion (UDPP)

Friday, October 29, 2010

Urban Decay Primer Potion or UDPP has changed their packaging recently due to requests from fans and makeup artists. It's now in a professional size tube with 150% more potion than the original bottle!

The new packaging looks like this:

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion, Professional Size

UDPP promises to keep makeup intact, enhanced and everlasting. In other words it actually delivers as promised. I received this product a few weeks ago, and have been using it regularly just to test it. The one I had is in a genie bottle (first picture above). The reason why I like this product is because: no creasing, long lasting, easy to blend and to remove. It dries up quickly and invisibly upon application, too... You can use it under any eyeshadow color to make it more vibrant. My client noticed that and quite surprised with the outcome. They had actually came back to me and say that the product I used is long lasting and had asked me about what product I used. This product is a must-have and worth buying! Oh, ya... I heard there is another product which carries the same qualities and comparable to the UDPP. That is TFSI or Too Faced Shadow Insurance! Will try to get this product for the future review.

Where to buy? Both Urban Decay and Too Faced products can be purchased online on their websites or at Sephora. By the way, rumor has it that Sephora will be coming to KL soon and it's the first in Malaysia. But, I'm not sure when... (Anyone knows, please volunteer?) Does it mean Smashbox, NARS, tokidoki, Tarina Tarantino, MUFE and etc will be here too? So tempting!

Check out the difference throughout the day using UDPP:

Here's another new version of UDPP in Sin that will add shimmer to your lids. I don't have it yet! Have you tried it already? Let me know in the comments!

Product Review: Milani Powder Bronzer Radiant

Tuesday, October 19, 2010

This might not one of my favorite bronzer. But it's just nice on my skin: not too orange, not too dark, and not too sparkling. At first, I thought it was matte. But, it wasn't! When I swatched on my hand, I can visibly see an extremely subtle flash gold shimmer in it! I think this color works well on people who have fair skin and for those who don't want the bronzer to be too sheer and shimmer like a disco ball :). This bronzer is easy to blend and has a great lasting power. I use it to contour my face... Oh, ya... I like the flower design on the powder. Isn't it cute?!!!

Product Review: MaxFactor Lash Perfection Mascara

Tuesday, October 12, 2010

This mascara is a limited edition version and it comes with new breakthrough brush technology. To be honest, I don't really like this mascara! Reasons: It doesn't lengthen, lift lashes or volumize (for your info, my lashes are short). The formula is too light/thin, too. I think this mascara is more suitable for those who already have long lashes. The good thing about this mascara is, it's waterproof and easy to apply. Why? It reaches into the corners of my eyes and brings out the little lashes as well. The wand allows an even application of the mascara and it looks just so superbly natural. My lashes look separated and doesn't clump, smudge or flake. Easy to remove with eye makeup remover, too. This mascara stays on throughout the day.

Product Review: Skin79 Oriental Gold BB Cream SPF25 PA++

Wednesday, October 6, 2010

This is my second review on BB cream product. Previously, I used TheFaceShop The Skin Extra BB Cream SPF20 PA++ (click here for product review). Bought this genuine Skin79 Oriental Gold BB Cream (please beware of fake skin79 products as there are fake Skin79 BB cream that is being distributed now in Taiwan at super low price) early last month and tested it out for 3 weeks now. This product, which gives SPF 25 protection against the harmful rays, is ideal for dry/combination skin that needs whitening and wrinkle improvement.

This cream is presented in dual purpose container. The upper cap is equipped with creamy touch lip and cheek; the bottom part contains the oriental gold cream. For the cheek and lip cream, it looks super natural, a little bit creamy and easy to blend. You can choose this cream to be lighter or heavier.

Here's my review:

Without lip and cheek cream
I love the smell! It smells like flowers. It keeps my face from drying for the whole day without making my face break out (as I work in an air-cond place) and it has made my face look younger :), healthy and radiant. The coverage is very minimal and it's just nice for me (just enough to hide little spots) but doesn't last for the whole day. This product doesn't give me a flawless effect (unless your skin is already flawless), instead it makes my skin shiny and radiant. However, this product claimed that it has whitening effect, but so far, I don't see any result for it. The formula is very light and blends really well on my skin. This product is highly recommended to those who have dry skin (but not oily skin or else use loose powder to control the oil and the shine) with fine wrinkle lines. And also for those who want light coverage and already have flawless skin. Overall, this BB Cream is better than the previous one I had. Quite happy with this product!
