Product Review: L'egere Purifying BB Facial Peeling Gel

Monday, June 28, 2010

So far, I haven't read any reviews about L'egere Purifying BB Facial Peeling Gel. It is a facial peeling gel (gentle exfoliator) to remove dead cells that inhibit the natural process of cell renewal, leaving skin clean and glowing. It stimulates cell activity, revitalizes and prepares skin to receive nourishing moisturizers. But, don't use it on irritated skin. This product is well-known in Taiwan nowadays and it also featured on a Taiwan variety program called "女人我最大" (My Greatest Woman) or "Queen" in Taiwan to discuss topics about women, makeup, beauty, skincare and etc. Because of that, I decided to get one for myself. This product is suitable for all skin types and it is made in Japan. I only use 1 pump 2 times a week. When I use this product, I can actually feel it getting into my pores and cleaning out the dirt. My skin feel softer, smoother, brighter every time after I use. Apart from that, you can also use it on your elbows, knees and ankles (areas that tend to get dark) that need more attention when it comes to lightening and exfoliating. It's multipurpose, and I like it very much!!

Check out the video here:

As you can see in the video, it comes out as a gel and as you massage onto the skin, it starts to emulsify and the buildup is the dead skin.

Marie Claire: 10 Most Popular Haircuts of All Time

Saturday, June 19, 2010

It's no secret that many of us take our beauty cues from celebrities. Recently a poll from hair company Goody officially confirmed it by counting down the six most popular celeb-inspired hairstyles. Marie Claire has added a few iconic styles to make up the 10 best hairstyles of all time - some of which still work today.

Farrah Fawcett's Feathered Flip
No one has ever done more for the "feathered" look. While the '70s and Fawcett are no longer with us, this vintage style is still a favorite with ladies everywhere.

Jennifer Aniston's "Rachel" Cut
Since Aniston debuted this style as the character Rachel on Friends in the '90s, more than 11 million women have tried the cut. Fifteen years later it's still a frequent request, making the "Rachel" one of the most popular hairstyles of all time.

Meg Ryan's Shag
Ryan's made a career out of portraying the silly but sexy, quirky girl - a persona best embodied by this choppy, peppy shag. This look was first runner-up in Goody's poll.

Dannii Minogue's Sleek Bob
Minogue's flawless bob is both sophisticated and confident - the perfect complement for any edgy, no-nonsense woman.

Princess Diana's Royal Do
During her short, tragic life, Diana reached the pinnacle of elegance and carved out one of the most recognizable and coveted styles. According to the poll, her cut is still popular with women in all age groups.

Victoria Beckham's Posh Pageboy
When Victoria Beckham decided to shed her "Posh" skin, she took the shears to her locks and catapulted herself into icon status with this structured style. Her asymmetrical cut is another favorite with women in every demographic.

Michelle Obama's Classic Cut
In 2007, Obama was an unknown political wife. Since ascending to the White House, she's handled the spotlight with confidence and grace, thanks in part to her elegance, character, and this timeless and flattering cut.

Marilyn Monroe's Blonde Curls
In the history of hair color there is no blonde more famous than Marilyn Monroe. She may not have invented this look, but she certainly owned it. If you've got the guts to go bottle blonde, this style still guarantees sex appeal.

Mia Farrow's Pixie Crop
In 1968, after Vidal Sassoon gave Mia Farrow this extreme haircut for the film Rosemary's Baby, thousands of women ran to salons, eager to shed inches of hair, along with traditional standards of feminine beauty.

Blake Lively's Layered Locks
Poised to topple the popularity of the "Rachel," Blake Lively's long, blonde Gossip Girl tresses have become one of the most requested styles in salons across American - even prompting a New York Times article chronicling the craze.

Going Green And Saving Money On Engagement

Friday, June 11, 2010

If you're looking at buying a diamond in this economy for your sweetheart, and finding it too expensive - take heart! You can do your part to save the earth, and save some money too. This doesn't mean you have to go out and buy a fake diamond, as that may be great for the planet, but bad for your love life. Instead, you can discuss it with your sweetheart and make green choices that are right for both of you.

Engagement Rings Without Diamonds

Diamonds weren't always the stone of choice for an engagement ring. Many brides, in the past, chose rings with other types of precious stones, from sapphires and rubies to emeralds. These stones can be less expensive than diamonds, in some cases. If your sweetheart isn't sold on a diamond ring, there's no reason she can't opt for a different gemstone.

Opt For A Vintage Ring

If you have a vintage diamond ring in your family gathering dust, why not recycle it when adding a new member to your family? Vintage diamond rings are often highly appreciated, not just for their sentimental value, but also for their beauty. It can also save quite a bit of money and help you do your part to save the earth by recycling some of the precious resources that have already been used.

Recycle An Old Setting

Maybe you have an old gold setting that would be perfect as a diamond ring. Have a jeweler recycle the old setting and add a new gemstone. Gold is at all time high prices and you can save a bundle recycling an old ring setting. If it has a cute family story attached to it too, all the better. It's a way of combining the old with the new, saving money, and making a statement about your green values - all in one shot.

Deary Masks

Tuesday, June 8, 2010

I came across a Taiwanese mask called Deary few weeks ago and I thought of sharing it here. I don't know why these days I'm just so crazy about Taiwanese, Japanese, and Korean stuff. At the moment, Taiwanese, Japanese, and Korean stuff are quite popular on the net, although these stuff are not a brand that particularly caught my attention before… All I can say, these masks are very worth their affordable price, work really well for me, and I highly recommend them. I really love the results alot! I left mine on for about 15-30 minutes and I could see the difference obviously. I really enjoyed it, the next day my skin felt smooth and even!

Here's what I've bought (from left to right):

How To Exercise The Face

Tuesday, June 1, 2010

Facial exercise works well and great for toning up the muscles of the face and neck as facial muscles loose firmness. Unlike plastic surgery techniques, they do not stop the aging process; muscles in the face continue to make their downward slide dragging the skin unnaturally, creating the need for more and more surgical procedures. With exercise, the muscles become stronger, the skin looks revitalized and lifted. Most importantly, facial exercises can be performed inexpensively at home. These exercises if they are done correctly and every day will greatly improve the look and expressiveness of your face. Just a few minutes a day and you'll see amazing positive changes in your face in just a few weeks.

Here's some effective facial exercises:

1. Open your mouth wide as if you are ready to scream, spread wide your eyes, stare ahead; and then revert to original position. Do it five times. Then repeat it five times while moving your head to left and to right.

2. Press your forehead (near the hairline) with your fingers and rub it with backward motion. Lines on the forehead, if any, will disappear by smooth rubbing.

3. Open your mouth wide and slide back your head. Now, open and close your mouth while moving your jaw as if munching. This action of opening and closing your mouth gives a good exercise to your mouth and jaw. Do it ten times.

4. Sit in front of your mirror. Twist your lips inward. Puff your mouth with air inside it. Now, let there be a laugh on one half of your face once, and on the other half next. Do it ten times in all. It will smooth your cheeks.

5. Keep your face straight in front of a mirror. Press your teeth and spread your lips. Count ten and revert to normal pose. Do it ten times.

6. Twist lips, puff up cheeks with air in them, keep three fingers on each side and press slowly, without letting the air blow out. Remain in this pose for ten minutes. This is an effective exercise for cheeks and mouth.
