Easy Way to Sharpen Eye/Lip Pencil

Tuesday, August 25, 2009

Easy Way to Sharpen Eye/Lip PencilI have difficulty getting a straight line of eyeliner on my eye or lip liner on my lip when the pencils are not sharp enough. What I do is sharpening it prior to use. But the problem here is some of my eye/lip pencils break and crumble when I sharpen it. Here's a simple, easy, and effective way I've tried so far!! Just put your lip/eye pencil in the refrigerator or freezer. This is to minimize breakage when you sharpen later. Leave it for about an hour. In fact, you can just simply store your eye/lip pencil in the refrigerator or freezer so it is always ready for sharpening when you are. So, remember to keep your eye/lip pencil in a refrigerator for better sharpening and application. After that, you can easily use your eye/lip liner to make your eye/lip makeup look more defined!!

Product Review: The Body Shop Glow Enhancer

Friday, August 21, 2009

I had The Body Shop Glow Enhancer in Pink and Natural shade. The Body Shop is currently doing a special promotion. But for this product, they offer buy 1 free 1. I heard alot about this product and decided to buy and can't wait to try it out. It's a moisturizing liquid luminizer that comes in a thin and clear 25ml tube.

The Body Shop Glow Enhancer
Here's a quick review of
The Body Shop Glow Enhancer:

This product has a nice subtle glow effect on the skin. The effect is minimal and it gives a very soft glow. It can be applied before or after foundation, or mix both at the same time. It can be also used before or after moisturizer or mix them together followed by foundation. Whichever comes first, it's all up to you!!! I usually mix the Glow Enhancer together with my liquid foundation. As a result, my skin becomes dry within an hour. The good thing is, the nice thin subtle glow effect on the skin can be seen obviously but hardly lasts for the whole day. I've tried another way, ei apply Glow Enhancer after foundation/makeup. This one makes my skin break!! My skin dries up even more faster and only have a short slight luminous glow. I also wear it before and after moisturizer just to get additional moisture, it still gets dry easily. I'm quite disappointed with this product and definitely will not repurchase it!! For me, it's not a glow enhancer at all!!!

The Body Shop Rich Plum Shimmer Body Lotion

Tuesday, August 18, 2009

The Body Shop Rich Plum Shimmer Body LotionProduct Review

This lotion is for smooth, soft and shimmering skin. The result is an easily-absorbed, subtly-scented body lotion. Now, instead of putting on a moisturizer and then a shimmer dusting powder, I can do it all in one step. I love the shimmer (it makes you look sexy) and I like the smell because it smells so sweet! It's not oily and sticky as well. On the skin, it glides smoothly and is very light-weight, so it won't clog your pores so badly. I don't use this lotion everyday though. I only plan to use this lotion for those lovely evening parties or dinner. After application it will last all night long!

Bio-essence Sunscreen Moisturizing Lotion SPF 15

Friday, August 14, 2009

Bio-essence Sunscreen Moisturizing Lotion SPF 15A bit about SPF or Sun Protection Factor number. It defines how much longer you can stay out of the sun without burning. For example, if it takes 15 minutes for me to burn, an SPF 15 will allow me to stay out in the sun 15 times longer without burning.

About Bio-essence

Established 20 years ago in 1985 by Founder, Dr Tor Lam Huat, L.D. Waxson is the pioneer manufacturer in beauty and body care products in Singapore. With foresight and a strong enterprising spirit, Dr Tor has taken L.D. Waxson from a fledging enterprise to be a homegrown regional establishment with operations in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Hong Kong and China and market reach to more than 15 countries including the USA, Europe, Japan, Middle East and S.E Asia countries.

Here's a quick review on Bio-essence Sunscreen Moisturizing Lotion SPF 15

This product is non-greasy and non-sticky. Of course, it is designed to protect the skin against UVA and UVB rays. It also minimizes the visible signs of aging and maintain the youthful appearance of skin and can be applied before using makeup-up. The thing is, I don't really like it as for me it smells like sunblock!! It also makes my face dry within few minutes of application. I think, it's more effective and suit those with normal to oily skin. But definitely NOT for me, because I have dry skin!!

No matter what, remember to stay out of direct sun and wear sunscreen of SPF 15 or higher if possible prior to sun exposure.

How I Do My Makeup: Green Blue Eye Makeup

Monday, August 10, 2009

This is a simple and easy green blue eye makeup look. Here's the step by step eye makeup application techniques you can find in this video for inspiration and guidance. Hope that you will learn something here, especially for the beginners.

Before you begin any eye makeup application, always remember to wash your face. Apply moisturizer, use an eye primer, foundation and concealer so that you can have a good base to work with. In this video, I applied concealer after the eye makeup application (you'll find it here in the video, keep watching!) and powder is always the last one I did!!

All products and types of brushes used appear at the end of this video. Hope you enjoy it!!

Nail Art Pen and Brush

Friday, August 7, 2009

Recently, I found a nail polish that comes with nail art pen at a local store here. It is called In 2 Nails - Nail Art Pen & Brush in black colour. It's for painting and drawing nail art designs.

Here's a quick review about this product:

It's a long wearing formula and dries up in 60 seconds. It has a beautiful high shine, too... You can do your nail art designs using the tip of the art pen or you can just polish your nails with the applicator paint brush. To use pen art, just remove the cap of the bottle by pulling upward and squeeze the bottle to fill the nib with nail paint. Clean the nib as required by using the cleaning pin provided which is attached to the bottom of the bottle. To use the applicator paint brush is easy, just unscrew it! I like the art pen because it's easy to control and draw precise lines. I'm not sure how many colours available but when I was there at the store, there were only white and black in colour.

In 2 Nails - Nail Art Pen & BrushThis is one of my favorite designs (inspired by julieg713 and s2pandapple). I did my nail designs last night using the art pen.

Product Review: Neutrogena Lip Moisturizer SPF 15

Monday, August 3, 2009

Neutrogena Lip Moisturizer SPF 15Neutrogena Lip Moisturizer with PABA-free sunblock protection is my favourite lip balm of all time. PABA stands for Para-aminobenzoic acid. It is a naturally occurring substance that is often used in sunscreen products. However, some people are allergic to it. If you're one of those people, make sure to look for a PABA-free sunscreen. This balm is mainly to protect dry and chapped lips and it seems to protect fairly well against the sun. I've been using this product for years now and it never fails me. I can't live without it and always bring it with me all the time because it's small and convenient to bring around. It keeps my lip moist and does not create a greasy feel. I also wear this lip balm by itself and under lipstick.

Active Ingredients:
7.5% Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate
4.0% Benzophenone-3

Net Wt. 15oz (4g)
